This was the CD I hadn't planned to record last year, and this is why you never say never.
I was tinkering around (mainly out of boredom and between job rejections), and I ended up with the both the title and melody for the title track popping into my head at more or less the same time. What kept me working on this CD though was the ridiculous notion, (courtesy of the title 'Through the Looking Glass), that I might come up with a musical version of the Lewis Carroll story.
You'll be as relieved as I was that this idea went away as quickly as it arrived, however the damage was done and I quickly had two or three other ideas in demo form and from there figured that I might as well press on, and, by January this year began mixing it all and trying out countless variations of running order until I was happy with the finished item.
I'm really quite chuffed with it, the melodies are some of the best I've written and reflect my love of emotive and moody chord changes, hopefully you'll like some (or all) of it too.
At some point I'll add the original version of 'Careful What You Wish For' to the 'Loose Ends' CD. It ran for just under 9 minutes, I couldn't settle on a mix I liked, nor could I decide how much guitar should be on it, after all, at what point does the guitar stop being melody and start to become directionless noodling? I very nearly dumped the whole thing until I came up with the idea of splitting it in two and adding the acoustic lead to part 1.
